Teaser–CodeStock Conference App for Android

Today, I found that the CodeStock 2012 schedule has been finalized. Now you know exactly when you can come see me. My first talk conflicts with Leon Gersing’s “You”, and my second with Jim Christopher’s “Raising the Next Generation of Geeks.” I look forward to seeing those of you who don’t fit into their talks in mine! Winking smile

Anyway, I noticed that they have apps for WP7 and iOS, but not for Android. I’m going to use this as an opportunity to dive into something real as a driver for my MonoDroid series. I’m too tired to do a full, detailed post right now, but the hacky beginnings of my discovery / learning journey have appeared on GitHub.

It’s been fun so far; I’m looking forward to taking it further (and cleaning it up – a lot of cleaning it up).

About David Ruttka

I've been "making computers do things" since I first saw King's Quest on a 286 PC in the mid-80's, but I turned it into a career just over a decade ago. While the majority of my experience has been on the Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, ASP.NET), I've recently been diving deeper into JavaScript and exploring the Ruby universe. Occasionally, I'll do a public speaking gig or write a blog post. When I'm not coding, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching hockey, and playing the occasional video game. You can also find me on Stack Overflow, Google Plus, and Twitter. Microsoft Certified Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 Specialist; MCPD Windows Developer 3.5
